Choosing the Right Shade of Concealer
You may want to consider using a concealer if you have blemishes on your face that can’t be covered by foundation. A concealer is a great tool in hiding dark spots for a flawless look. In order to accomplish this feat, choose one that is a shade lighter than your natural skin tone. When buying, test it first on your skin to make sure you are going home with the right choice.
For the most natural look, yellow-based concealers are recommended because most skin tones have yellow undertones in them. Dark under eye circles, in particular, react well with this particular type. If you have angry red spots, though, choose a concealer with a green base to combat the redness. If you can’t find shade you want, you can mix concealers of different colors to get a customized palette.
Some chemicals in a concealer can be too drying on the skin, so before putting it on, make sure your face is adequately moisturized. The next step is to put on foundation, but in some cases this can be optional, depending on the coverage you need for a given occasion. For a polished finish, use a brush, and not your fingers, when applying concealer.
