With all the current programs on cosmetic surgery on television, I thought that it was important that Beauty News had a voice on the subject.
There is nothing wrong or bad about wanting or in fact having plastic surgery done. Modern techniques are safe with reliable statistics of successful procedures, and there are bodies out their like the BACD that help to regulate and give free advice to anyone thinking about having any kind of procedure done. We’re not going to go into the specific considerations that should be made depending on the type of treatment that you are thinking of having, what we want to cover is just one simple question that should be asked by anyone thinking of having any kind of cosmetic treatment done.
Why do I want to have this procedure.
It is such a simple question, but also the most important one, no matter the size or magnitude of the treatment you are considering. What do I hope to achieve from this? A surprising amount of people don’t ask themselves this important question and then are disappointed by the surgical results because what they were looking for could not be brought about by a cosmetic treatment.
When having some smart lipo done for example, if you were hoping to lose some excess fat quickly, and that is all, then a successful procedure will yield results. Yet with some other procedures such as breast enlargements, the people having them done are sometimes looking to make a change in their lives. Some people believe that getting to a certain weight level will make a bigger change in their lives.
Now don’t misunderstand this, many people have used this change as an opportunity to make change in their lives, to change their day to day habits or their happiness levels for the better. It is important to remember however that getting a calf implant will give you more defined calves – it won’t necessarily turn you into a ‘honey magnet’ as one man described. Having your nose reshaped will change the shape of your nose, and when you ask yourself why you want the procedure having a different shaped nose is the answer, then the procedure may well be for you. If however, you are looking for a bigger change in your life, you should perhaps look to making changes in your life rather than just changes to your appearance.
